ABOUT US What is the CCF?
The Cheviot Community Foundation (CCF) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting and uplifting the Cheviot area and its surrounding neighborhoods. Originally formed under various names over the years, the group officially became The CCF upon receiving its nonprofit designation. The foundation is led by a President, Vice President, a volunteer board, and a dedicated group of general members. Our membership is composed of individuals who live in Cheviot, own or operate businesses in the area, or have strong ties to the community. While we maintain a cooperative relationship with local government, CCF is strictly nonpolitical—our bylaws specifically prohibit board members from serving as elected officials.
Our mission is to showcase and strengthen the Cheviot area as a fun, safe, open, and welcoming place to live, visit, and do business. Through volunteer efforts, local partnerships, and grassroots initiatives, we strive to build pride and positivity throughout the west side of Cincinnati. By bringing together neighbors, entrepreneurs, and community advocates, we believe we can help Cheviot thrive as a vibrant and inclusive hometown.
Our primary fundraiser is Cheviot WestFest, a three-day street festival with live music, retail, food and rides held annually on the third weekend in June. Originally running from 2001 through 2016, the event took a hiatus as our organization transitioned from the Cheviot Westwood Community Association (CWCA) to The CCF, followed by the Harrison Avenue road project and the COVID-19 pandemic. What was meant to be a short break turned into a ten-year pause. In 2025, WestFest triumphantly returned on June 20, 21, and 22, drawing large crowds despite sweltering heat. Its success marks a renewed commitment to building community and celebrating everything that makes Cheviot and the west side of Cincinnati special.
In addition to WestFest, The Cheviot Community Foundation hosts several other community-driven events throughout the year that reflect our commitment to serving local residents. One of our most popular initiatives is a free community shred event, where we help individuals safely dispose of old, sensitive documents in a secure and environmentally responsible way.
Another standout effort is Mugs for Meals, led by Kevin Burnett. What began as a fun way to repurpose leftover WestFest souvenir mugs has grown into a meaningful fundraiser supporting local food pantries. During the most recent event, our volunteers stood along the street collecting donations—and thanks to the generosity of our community, we raised an impressive $9,485.00. Those funds were then distributed to food pantries that directly serve the needs of Cheviot and the surrounding area.
